The enforcement action, part of ROADPOL Operation Speed, was held on April 19th, involving 30 member countries of the European Roads Policing Network.

The move was made at the latest meeting of the Council of the European Road Policing Network held in Malta, 25th of April. Bulgarian Vladinov's ascension followed the resignation of his predecessor, Croatian Sanja Veic, who received the acclaim of ROADPOL members after years of devoted service at various positions within the Network.

Now the Minister of the Interior joins the debate saying that the specific offense of driving under the dual influence of alcohol and narcotics "remains under-recognized".

iStock 1178397693319 APR- An EU scientific project is set to come up with an advanced electronic device that can check people’s driving performance and counter effects of driver fatigue.

Called FITDRIVE, the project, led by the ITCL Technology Centre in Spain, is building technology integrated into the car’s software that will send customised alerts to drivers when they should pay more attention to the road or even take a break.
