Tested In A Nationwide Contest

The contest was held in the region of Olomouc and gathered the best of the best in numerous exciting battles and tests on professional knowledge.

Auspices

The opening of the prestigious competition was undertaken by Colonel Jiří Zlý, director of the Directorate of the Traffic Police Service of the Police Presidium of the Czech Republic. In his opening speech he wished all participants good luck and success not only in the competition, but also in their demanding work and private life.

A total of thirty traffic police officers took on various tasks in the competition, which included both theoretical and practical panels. The theoretical part of the competition included two sets of tests where the participants had to demonstrate their expert knowledge of traffic or legal regulations and internal management acts in the field of transport. There was a time limit for developing the tests, which required quick and precise thinking.

Practice

The practical part of the competition was divided into two parts. In the first one, traffic police officers were evaluated for their skill in regulating traffic at a busy intersection. The criteria included the accuracy and clarity of instructions, consideration of the traffic safety situation and professional conduct at every stage of the situation. In the second part police officers had to demonstrate their driving skills and abilities, which included fast and precise driving challenges.

This event underlines the importance of the work of traffic police officers for road safety in the Czech Republic”, Zlý commented.

Winners

Colleagues from the Moravian-Silesian region took first place in the teams contest. The silver was won by South Moravian team, and the third went to the Special Supervision Department. In individuals Michal Butkovič from the Olomouc region swept away the competition. Second and third prizes went to ensigns Jakub Demel and Ondřej Monsport from the Moravian-Silesian Region.
