ROADPOL Safety Days To Be
Promoted At Major Tech Festival
8 AUG - ROADPOL Safety Days (RSD) campaign is set to be promoted within the TEKNOFEST Aerospace and Technology Festival in Istanbul, Turkey.
ROADPOL member, The Turkish National Police, is planning to organize a number of RSD events at the venue in September.
Truck
The presence of the Mobile Traffic Educational Truck is envisaged among the scope of the Police activities. A road safety class will be taught to children from kindergarten and primary school students. Kids will be theoretically trained to observe the traffic rules and will practice at the wheels of the battery-powered mini-vehicles within the open field of teaching streets and intersections. The field is equipped with traffic lights and road signs which children are expected to heed after the lessons learned in the Truck.
Seat Belt
A seat belt vehicle simulation tool will also be presented by the Police in order to appeal to the public about the importance of using this single most important road safety device ever invented. Participants at the festival will have the opportunity to experience a simulation of a roll-over crash while not seat-belt restrained. The simulation is performed under the guidance and control of an experienced police officer assuring the safety of the participating citizens. The aim is to demonstrate how crucial the use of seat belt is for preventing or minimizing injuries as well as saving human lives which is the primary mission of the ROADPOL Safety Days campaign.
