South American Police Congress
16 MAY - ROADPOL was presented at the latest III Presevilab Ibero-American Congress in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
The European Roads Policing Network was represented at the event by Leandro Fuentes, ROADPOL Council and Operations Working Group member and Head of Operations for Traffic and Transportation Section at Spain's Guardia Civil.
“The congress was dedicated to occupational risk prevention and road safety and hosted international speakers and professionals to present their vision through different round tables“, Fuentes explained. The objective of the congress is to create an international forum in which governments, labor ministries, experts in road safety and occupational health, general traffic directorates, private companies, institutions share their experiences and exchange knowledge, joining efforts in the fight against all types of traffic crashes, including those emerging as part of labor circumstances. In his presentation Fuentes explained ROADPOL's vision and mission highlighting the network's approach based on international law enforcement cooperation, education and raising of public awareness of the challenges of road safety.
Presevilab is organized by Fesvial, the Spanish Foundation for Road Safety, the Autonomous Government of the City of Santa Cruz in Bolivia, with the main collaboration of the Bolivian Society of Engineers and the Santa Cruz Departmental Society of Engineers. In addition, it has the support of the Spanish Government, through the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Hygiene, and the Ibero-American Social Security Organization (OISS), among other administrations and institutions. international.
