ROADPOL Newsletter Extra Edition 1st July 2020

07 February 2024  | www.roadpol.eu

Welcome to our Special ROADPOL Newsletter

Today, we are pleased to announce the start of the ROADPOL Safety Days.

The ROADPOL Safety Days are the successor to our “Project EDWARD” campaign, which has been running since 2016.

We hope to be able to draw your interest in our campaign.

Yours Sincerely

Heinz Albert Stumpen

ROADPOL General Secretary

The ROADPOL Safety Days are the successor of our successful TISPOL campaign "Project EDWARD", which started in 2016. The ROADPOL Safety Days also aim to reduce the number of fatal traffic accidents - to ZERO.

From now on, the ROADPOL Safety Days will always take place at the same time as the European Commission's European Mobility Week from 16 to 22 September.

Our member countries determine when their national ROADPOL Safety Day or ROADPOL Safety Days take place during this week.

Each year, a country hosts the main event, which takes place together with the annual ROADPOL autumn conference.

In 2020, Germany will host the ROADPOL Safety Days. The main event will take place on September 16 in Mainz.

The European Commission is again fully supporting our campaign this year.

Many thanks to Matthew Baldwin and his great team in Brussels!

You want to know what it is about?

An average of 70 people dies on the roads every day across Europe. Based on Vision Zero, we want to reduce this number to zero at least one day a year – on September 16.

Therefore, we call on all road user to rethink their behavior on the road. We would like to show you how you can reduce dangers in road traffic and increase your own safety, whether you are traveling by car, motorcycle, bicycle, e-scooter or as a pedestrian.

More information about the ROADPOL Safety Days can be found on our new website at https://www.roadpolsafetydays.eu and in our campaign video.

Make your ROAPDOL Safety Days pledge.

Share your pledge on social media at #roadpolsafetydays.

Follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and share our messages.

Clubs, schools, road safety organizations ... - they can all help us achieve our goal from the day no one dies on Europe's roads.

Run your own events, e.g. discussions, educational campaigns or workshops and send us pictures or videos with your pledge or your event.

In the next few weeks you will find multimedia and messages on our website that you can download for your own campaign or your posts on social media.

Our website, on which you can find out about events in your area or register your own events, is accessible again.

If you have any questions about the ROADPOL Safety Days or want to talk about how you can support us, our team at safetydays@roadpol.eu will be happy to help.

We would be delighted if you would also trust us in 2020 and together, we would make our roads a little safer for everyone.

In this sense               „Stay alive and save lives“!
