ROADPOL was the main star at a major high-class Arabic road safety event.

The European Roads Policing Network’s power duo President Elvira Zsinkai and General Secretary Sanja Veic were dignified headline speakers at the Traffic Safety Conference at the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Mrs. Zsinkai kicked off the content part of the seminar with a captivating lecture on "Cooperation and Coordination among Relevant Authorities for Traffic Safety” followed by a presentation by Mrs. Veic on ROADPOL and its mission and strategy. A stunning double rise in the rate of driving under intoxication of substances (DUI) was registered during the latest ROADPOL Alcohol&Drugs Marathon.

The marathon was conducted during the June ROADPOL Alcohol&Drugs operation and featured broad 24-hour checks along the roads of 13 member countries. Read more

Spain's Guardia Civil To Measure Its Own

Spain's Guardia Civil will start measuring its own carbon footprint.

The Spanish Ministry of the Interior announced that the country’s Guardia Civil (Civil Guard) will be the first national police force, which will take concrete steps to calculate, reduce and compensate for the environmental impact of its activities. In other words, it will try to lessen its carbon footprint. Read more

Serbia Joining CARE Database As Observer


355682338 794347212251163 7384159804611846688 nSerbia has been granted observer status in the Community Database on Accidents on the Roads in Europe (CARE) by the EU High-Level Group on Road Safety.

The accomplishment follows a thorough feasibility study, started in early 2021 and driven by the Transport Community with the support of the European Commission, during which Serbia demonstrated its fulfillment of the criteria for inclusion in CARE. Read more
