6000 Drunk Drivers Caught

in ROADPOL Operation

Welcome to the January 2021 ROADPOL Newsletter

Dear all,

in this edition our fight against dangerous conduct on the road continues with strong results from the Alcohol & Drugs operation.

Also here ROADPOL member and undisputed Road Safety World Champion Norway asserts their record with some new impressive stats.

Bulgarian Road Traffic Police sets an ‍example with early-bird checks just hours within the new year.

Speaking about champions, ROADPOL bids farewell to retiring distinguished ECR officer Mr. Gerard Schpper - a professional who left a strong imprint on our organization.

And we are also glad to welcome aboard ROADPOL's new Media Team.

Stay save and let 2021 bring peace and health to you and your loved ones!

Yours Sincerely

Heinz Albert Stumpen

ROADPOL General Secretary

Hard Work during Hard Times

6.218 drunk drivers were caught by police officers in a ROADPOL pan-European campaign aimed at driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

Additional 1.509 drivers were found to be driving after having taken different kinds of illicit drugs. Throughout the campaign lasting from 7 to 13 December 2020 about 500.000 motorists were checked across 13 ROADPOL member states. The numbers are allegedly impressive considering a lot of member police forces did not take part in the campaign due to COVID-19 emergency measures.                                                                                                                                            Read more
